Dear Son,
As long as you live in this house you will follow the rules. When you have your own house, you can make your own rules. In this house we do not have a democracy. I did not campaign to be your father. You did not vote for me. We are father and son by the grace of God, and I accept that privilege and awesome responsibility. In accepting it I have an obligation to perform the role of a father. I am not your pal. Our ages are too differnet. We can share many things, but we are not pals. I am your father. This is 100 times more than what a pal is. I am also your friend, but we are on entirely different levels. You will do, in this house, as I say, and you cannot question me because whatever I ask you to do is motivated by love. This will be hard for you to understand until you have a son of your own.
Until then, trust me.

Yep! That one is getting put away for future use. Savannah and I had a rough day yesterday. She left to go babysit with tears in her eyes and less than kind thoughts about her mother in her mind. I thought about her the whole 3 hours she was gone and had decided that I would demand an apology when she got home because her attitude had been so unacceptable. Sigh! She returns home, comes straight to me in my bedroom, hugs me and starts to cry. The apologies came pouring out and she asked with a cute smirk... will you still let me live here? Good, smart daughter. So glad she came to that resolution on her own, AND that she realizes what is expected to retain residence here, giggle!

No Carly I accidently posted it on Lacey's old blog because that's what was logged on the computer when I got on and I didn't notice it until I had posted on the wrong page...silly me :)
